OTTO Health Partners with Twin Cities Pain Clinic

OTTO Health’s newest partner, Twin Cities Pain Clinic, is always looking to improve patient care by offering convenient solutions. “A great deal of our patients suffer from chronic pain and require regular visits to help manage their conditions,” said Dr. Andrew Will, founder and Medical Director of Twin Cities Pain Clinic. “It is difficult for many patients to take off work for office visits, while others find travel burdensome due to their pain. We started exploring Telehealth products to offer them a more convenient option for follow-ups and check-ins."

For Twin Cities Pain Clinic, OTTO Health was the right solution. “We were very happy to have found OTTO Health, because their platform meets all our needs," said Sheila Thompson, Practice Administrator at Twin Cities Pain Clinic. "OTTO integrates seamlessly with, NextGen Healthcare, our patient management program, and offers excellent security, which allows us to be efficient while protecting our patients' privacy. On top of all that, the customer service has been amazing from day one."

Twin Cities Pain Clinic expects Virtual Visits to be a huge benefit for both their patients and the organization itself. "Our goal is to provide our patients with improved quality of life and overall well-being." said Dr. Will. "Telehealth will make it easier for our patients to attend their appointments, which allows us to consistently deliver the best care possible."

“We already have over 60 Virtual Visits scheduled for October,” Thompson added. “I think it’s safe to say our patients are excited that we are now offering Telehealth services.”

Potomac Physicians Associates (PPA), a Primary Care group of 28 providers across three locations, worked with five different Telehealth vendors before switching to OTTO Health. According to Dr. Steven Schwartz, a family physician and the Medical Director of Potomac Physician Associates, “with the other vendors, scheduling was always a major barrier. Our staff was having to schedule in two places, and it just wasn’t efficient for our clinical workflows. OTTO’s integration with NextGen Healthcare made Telehealth incredibly simple, and actually achievable.” PPA has found offering Virtual Visits allows them to reduce cancellations. “We were scheduling weeks out, but since introducing Virtual Visits, we’ve been able to convert between 25%-35% of our in-clinic visits that would have been cancellations, to Virtual Visits. As a result, our schedules have freed up, giving us the ability to see more patients.” He continued, “Virtual Visits have worked phenomenally well for medication follow-up and check-ins for our ADD/ADHD, diabetic and mental health patients, as well as patients dealing with UTIs.” PPA is also using OTTO to transition phone calls to reimbursable Virtual Visits. “Before exploring Telehealth, our providers would get frustrated with phone calls, because frankly it would turn into a 15-20 minute call that we were not reimbursed for,” said Dr.Schwartz. “One of the best things about OTTO, is that they are always working on new features to help improve clinical efficiency and they make it easy to customize settings for your practice. For instance, you are able to tie visit types to specific intake questions that the patient is prompted with prior to their Virtual Visit. Then the provider can easily see those answers and check if they have paid a co-pay, if necessary,” said Schwartz.

OTTO Health is excited to announce their recent partnership with Community Health Center of Franklin County (CHCFC), which serves patients in three locations across Western Massachusetts. CHCFC recognizes that seemingly small barriers can present major obstacles in getting the care that is needed, so they are always thinking and implementing programs to meet the needs of those in their community who are seeking care. According to Edward Sayer, CEO at CHCFC, the practice began exploring Telehealth platforms as they were “interested in offering convenient options and enhancing the patient experience.” CHCFC decided it was time to partner with OTTO to offer their patients Virtual Visits, which they hope will “increase patient satisfaction and decrease the number of last-minute cancellations and no-shows,” Sayer explained. They chose OTTO, “because of the integration with Greenway Health’s Intergy product and the small bandwidth requirements.” CHCFC plans on using Virtual Visits for a number of appointment types including primary care follow-ups and behavioral health visits. “OTTO has seen provider groups be successful in offering behavioral health interventions virtually,” said OTTO’s CSO and VP of Product, Grant Lunney, “connecting patients to behavioral health professionals remotely has increased access and expanded opportunities to reach at-risk patients in need.” Over the past few months OTTO has expanded its footprint in Community Health Centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and Rural Health Clinics. “We are proud of our partners in the Community Health space,” said OTTO’s CEO Sarah Green, “Health Centers like CHCFC are leading the charge in using Telehealth to increase access to convenient and high-quality health care.”
